As soon as he hits the pillow he starts. I dont even know how someone can breathe that loud and then as soon as he falls a little bit asleep the snoring starts and gets worse. We fight alot about it because i get no sleep and somehow its my fault that his snoring affects me. I have no idea what to do about this?Im at the end of my rope…

He’s not healthy, go meet a doctor
Hi Sasha. i can sympathise, because I have had this problem! Before I started using some of the tricks to stop snoring, when he woke me doing this, I would pull his pillow sharply to the side a couple of inches from under his head which would just awaken him and stop the noise, and I could quickly get back to sleep before he started again!
I started to write down some ideas, then remembered this article. I think you will find it useful:

Anyhow, one thing I can add to it is if he is an open-mouthed snorer, you could try taping his mouth shut at night so he has to breathe through his nose(!), so long as his nose is clear and he can breathe easily through it – you don’t want to suffocate the guy. That sometimes helps (I’ve done this myself). Or you can buy these specially-shaped pieces of plastic that you wear in your mouth or in your nose that can help.. Again, a lot of it depends on the type of snoring. You might try first of all keeping a sort of diary of when he snores the most – is it on days when he has been drinking/smoking a lot, etc.? Sometimes just getting him to sleep on his side and not on his back can help.
Anyway, have a look at the article and see what you think. (I like the alternative suggestion at the end of learning to play a didgeridoo as that strengthens the soft palate and throat! I bet Rolf Harris doesn’t snore!!)
have him go to the doctor and get a sleep study you can inititate it by calling his doctor and all you have to say is he snores so loud and you cant sleep.

Sasha I have been using the CPAP for the better part of a year now and it helps me like you wouldn’t believe. It goes back some so bear with me some. Lisa artical is filled with some very useful and helpful information.
I have had the surgery, were they removed the bell in the back of my throat and that helped for a while. My weight has become an issue and the snoring returned three fold. Yes a person weight can make a huge difference in this and I’m working on it. It is much easier to put on than take it back off, to many good tasty foods out there. As good as they may taste they are not overly good for ones health. We lived with it for maybe 10 years along with other medical issues.
I had a sleep study done in home and they found I had sleep APNEA. I had stopped breathing as many as 75 times during the night. We continued on until about a year ago were I done another study at a clinic. They showed pretty much the same thing and it required the machine. I done the sleep thing again but this time with a mask on and it made a huge change in our life. I can now have dreams and recall more of them get better sleep and not feel so tired during the day. The dreams wake me now days more than the APNEA does. Still working on the weight thing.
Begin with your GP and request some guidance and support from them. Granted wearing the mask is not overly attractive so if one is to engage in any physical intimacy it is best done before that take place.
I don’t hear the machine but my wife is an RN and her hearing is much better than mine. The have made huge improvements on them over the years as well as the mask. I think the full face mask makes a person look like Jason sort of scary. They have some that just covers the nose and mouth and some that just covers the nose. It requires cleaning and follow up at least month on follow ups and cleaning once a week but they go over this with a person. Fell free to contact me and ask me anything I would be more than happy to help if I can. This has made a big difference in sleeping, something I should have done long time ago. It may have prevented some the health problems I now deal with.
